Vice Ganda And Vic Sotto Are Making A Movie Together
Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto are starring in a film together for the first time. The two confirmed the news during a launch event at a mall in Cubao on Sunday, July 5. The project is titled The Greatest Showdown.
The pairing had been rumored for days. Vice and Sotto had been dropping hints on their respective noontime programs, It’s Showtime and Eat Bulaga!, shows that have spent years positioned as ratings rivals. Fans noticed the exchanges and started speculating before either side confirmed anything.
One Film, Two Noontime Camps
At the announcement, Vice told the crowd the moment had been years in the making and that this would not be the only time audiences see the two of them on screen together. Sotto addressed fans from both camps directly, thanking the Dabarkads and the Madlang People by name before revealing the project.
Sotto described the film as an all-out comedy built to lift people’s spirits. He tied the project to what he called a difficult stretch for the country, saying the goal is to give Filipinos a reason to smile.

Jun Robles Lana will direct, reuniting with Vice Ganda after directing and co-writing “And the Breadwinner Is…” and “Call Me Mother,” the film that earned Vice Ganda a Best Actor trophy.

“The Greatest Showdown” is set for release in Philippine cinemas sometime in 2026. No exact release date has been announced. Reports indicate the film is being eyed for the 2026 Metro Manila Film Festival, though that has not been officially confirmed. Casting beyond the two leads has not been revealed.
