Over October Opened for Rex Orange County in Manila
On August 20, Rex Orange County took the SM Mall of Asia Arena stage for his exclusive Asia show. Filipino band Over October opened for him.
Dahan to Ikot
Over October opened the night with their song “Dahan.” They followed with “123,” “Kaakit-akit,” and “If You Change Your Mind.” They played their latest single, “Manatili,” live before closing their set with “Ikot.”
Fellow Filipino artist Maki also opened the show. He started with “kahel na langit,” then moved into “Kailan?” and “habangbuhay pansamantala.”
Confirmed a Day Before Doors
Concert promoter Wilbros Live announced Maki and Over October as the opening acts on Instagram, one day ahead of the show. Wilbros Live also presented the concert itself.
Over a Decade Before This Stage
Over October formed in Manila in October 2014. The lineup is Josh Buizon on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Joshua Caleb Lua on lead guitar, Joric Canlas on bass, Janessa Geronimo on drums, and Anton Rodriguez on rhythm guitar, according to their band history.
Rex Orange County billed the Manila stop as his exclusive Asia show. His last Manila appearance was in 2023, when he debuted at Smart Araneta Coliseum. Over October opened this one more than a decade after forming.
Where Rex Heads Next
Rex Orange County performed hits including “Happiness,” “Best Friend,” “Sunflower,” and “Pluto Projector” for the Manila crowd. He is set to perform in Jakarta, Indonesia on August 23 as part of the LaLaLa Festival.
