SB19 and Jolin Tsai’s Collaboration Breaks Into China’s Weibo Music Awards

“Emoji,” SB19’s duet with Taiwanese pop icon Jolin Tsai, has been shortlisted for the 2026 Weibo Music Awards under the Annual Recommended Songs category, Chinese-language division. The song released in March.

The official Weibo Music Awards account confirmed the nomination, describing the track as “a cross-border meeting of pop and P-pop.” The song has reportedly passed 11 million views on Weibo. Voting opened September 1 and closes September 13, with results expected September 17, according to fan-tracking posts covering the nomination.

How the Collaboration Started

SB19 and Tsai performed together at the Hito Music Awards in Taipei in June 2025, with Tsai closing the show, and the collaboration grew from that meeting. The song landed as the second single from SB19’s album Wakas at Simula, released through Sony Music Philippines.

What the Nomination Means

The shortlist puts SB19 inside a market that decides recognition through Weibo’s own charts and engagement, not the international channels P-pop already knows.
