DreamWorks’ Forgotten Island Shows Extended Clip
DreamWorks Animation released an extended clip from Forgotten Island on September 15, ahead of the film’s theatrical release on September 25. The clip is built entirely around one scene: Raissa’s graduation party, thrown by friends and family to celebrate her acceptance to Caltech.
A Party Full of Pride and Chaos
Raissa is a brilliant student heading off to Caltech, and her party reflects it. Friends and family pack the yard for karaoke, playful teasing, and sudden bursts of commotion. The tone swings between comedy and real emotion, celebrating what Raissa has accomplished while sitting with the fact that she’s about to leave home for America.
The Details in the Frame
The party is staged with specific Filipino fiesta touches: a whole roasted lechon on the table, a framed image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the wall, balloons and tropical greenery filling the yard. At one point, a partygoer in a yellow bird costume gets the hood lifted off by an older woman, one of several small comic beats inside the celebration.
