Pixel 11 Launch: 7 Updates Worth Knowing

August 16, 2026 3 Min Read

The Pixel 11 lineup is built around Gemini Intelligence, and this year it works before you ask. Gemini can now handle multistep tasks across more than 40 apps on the device, surfacing things like flight status or hotel comparisons without you digging for them. A new voice input feature called Rambler transcribes speech cleanly even through filler words, and Gboard adds sign to text functionality built on Google DeepMind’s sign language model. Glanceable cards will surface details like your booking information when someone asks about an upcoming trip. Separately, the phone will suggest saving events to Calendar, locations to Maps, or membership numbers to Google Wallet as they come up in conversation, plus location based insights in preview that surface top menu items or popular seats when you are waiting for a table.

The Camera Stops Waiting for the Right Moment

Magic Capture is built for the shots that happen too fast to frame. Point the camera, and it analyzes around 400 frames using on device intelligence and Gemini models to deliver a 12 megapixel photo timed to the actual moment, whether that is a baby’s smile or a basketball frozen mid air. It applies crop and unblur automatically and hands you a video too, without switching modes.

Pick a Look Before You Shoot

Camera Looks lets you set your default photo style at the point of capture instead of editing after the fact. Beyond the original Pixel look, there are three new defaults (Natural, Shadows, Vanilla) and six additional styles, including Editorial and Velvet, all built with adjusted frame merging and color processing to mimic film rather than just filtering an image after it is taken.

Built-In Tools for Anyone Making Content

Creator Suite adds a teleprompter that scrolls as you talk, social gridlines in the viewfinder, and automatic project folders for saved clips, plus a Storyboard tool for trimming and rearranging footage. You can also set video as the Pixel Camera’s default mode. Android Authority reported that the Pro models also get Pro Stable Video and 8K Video Boost.

Night Shots Without the Wait

Instant Night Sight, exclusive to Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL, captures low light images up to 4.5 times faster than the Pixel 10, 9, and 8 series while holding onto image quality. The whole lineup runs on the new Tensor G6 chip, which Android Authority reported delivers 50% more TPU compute and up to 25% faster web browsing.

Search Without Opening an App

Circle to Search now works directly inside the Camera app. Point your camera at a flower on a walk, and Circle to Search can identify the species or find planting tips. Beyond plant IDs, it can translate text or let you search for whatever you’re looking at, all without taking a photo first.

Language Stops Being a Wall

Live Translate now dubs real time audio and video automatically, translating media into your preferred language using on device generative AI models powered by the Tensor G6 chip. Translation speed depends on the content and is not always instantaneous, and availability varies by country and language.

Pricing and Availability

Pixel 11 starts at $899, Pixel 11 Pro at $1,099, and Pixel 11 Pro XL at $1,299. All three are open for preorder now, with general retail availability starting August 20.
