Kris Aquino is back onscreen with Netflix Philippines

Kris Aquino has returned to the screen through a new Netflix Philippines campaign.

Netflix introduced her as its C.H.I.K.A., short for Chief Head of Insights and Kontent Analysis. The tongue-in-cheek role places Aquino in a Netflix editing room, where she reviews Filipino titles and gives creative notes.

The first episode was released on August 7, 2026. Aquino reports for work, meets an editor named Earl John, and looks over clips from Filipino titles on Netflix. Her suggestions lead to creative changes, including new effects and filters.

The episode features A Secret in Prague, Blood vs Duty, and The Master Cutter. Netflix’s campaign presents the titles as Kris Aquino-approved after their “bonggang upgrades,” Krissy style.

A comeback built around commentary

The campaign marks Aquino’s return to the entertainment spotlight after years away from regular screen work. The project is presented as a Netflix Philippines campaign, not as the announcement of a separate long-form series.

Its appeal comes from the setup. Aquino is given an editing room, a set of Filipino titles, and space to react in her direct, recognizable way. The campaign places her familiar screen presence inside Netflix’s behind-the-scenes world.

The announcement drew attention from fellow personalities and netizens. Aquino also reposted Netflix’s video on Facebook with the message, “guess who’s back?”

Two more episodes are coming

Netflix Philippines announced that the C.H.I.K.A. campaign will have three episodes. The first was released on August 7. The second is scheduled for August 14, followed by the third on August 20.

For now, the project brings Aquino back through a short campaign centered on Filipino shows and her reactions to them.
