IV of Spades and Fitterkarma Lead the Wins at the 39th Awit Awards
The 39th Awit Awards handed out its top honors on September 15, 2026, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. IV of Spades and fitterkarma won two of the night’s biggest trophies.
One Band, Two of the Biggest Trophies
IV of Spades took home Song of the Year for “Aura” and Album of the Year for “Andalucia.” IV of Spades, along with Dionela, Cup of Joe, Maki, and Ben&Ben, had earned multiple nominations across the grand, performance, and technical categories.
Fitterkarma’s Track Wins the Category It Was Built For
“Pag-ibig ay Kanibalismo II” earned fitterkarma the Record of the Year award. The same track had also been in the running for Song of the Year, up against entries from SB19’s “DUNGKA!,” IV of Spades’ “Kabisado,” Maki’s “Kahel Na Langit,” and Dionela featuring Loonie’s “Ikigai.”
SB19 and Janine Berdin Add Their Own Wins
SB19 took home Best Pop Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Dungka.” Group leader Pablo, together with RADKIDZ, was also named Songwriter of the Year. Janine Berdin’s “What if I miss you for the rest of my life” earned her both Best Ballad Recording and Best Performance by a Solo Artist.
The Rest of the Genre Categories
Lola Amour’s “Love on Loop” won Best World Music Recording, and Project Yazz’s “Malalim ang Gabi” took Best Traditional Contemporary Folk Recording. Typecast’s “Rapture” won Best Rock/Metal Recording, and One Click Straight’s “Telepono” took Best Alternative Recording. Dionela featuring Loonie’s “Ikigai” claimed both Best Rap/Hip-Hop Recording and Best Collaboration.
