BINI made a surprise appearance at the “Forgotten Island” panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, performing their new single “A Parallel World” live for the crowd. The panel, held July 24 at Ballroom 20 of the San Diego Convention Center, also brought together directors Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado alongside cast members H.E.R., Liza Soberano, and Dave Franco.
BINI later shared photos from the moment on Instagram, thanking the “Forgotten Island” and DreamWorks teams for what they called an unforgettable moment.
A Song Built for Two Worlds
“A Parallel World” is BINI’s contribution to the film’s soundtrack. Nathan Matthew David and Shawn Wasabi handled production, and Grammy-winning engineer Tom Norris mixed the track, which moves between English and Tagalog lyrics. It dropped across streaming platforms on July 23, a day before the panel. BINI had already given fans a preview weeks earlier at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in June, where the song surfaced during their “Signals” concert.
SB19, Lea Salonga, and KATSEYE’s Sophia Laforteza also appear on the soundtrack, part of a broader roster of Filipino and Filipino-descent artists and actors involved in the project.
The Story Behind the Panel
“Forgotten Island” centers on Raissa (voiced by Liza Soberano) and Jo (voiced by H.E.R.), childhood best friends who find a portal right as they’re about to head off to separate colleges. It drops them on Nakali, a mystical island where staying too long comes at a cost: their memories start slipping away. Dave Franco rounds out the cast as Raww, a were-aspin companion for the pair. Crawford and Mercado, the latter Filipino-American, direct the film, which opens in theaters September 25.
After the Panel
BINI’s Comic-Con day didn’t stop at the panel. Photos followed with the cast, halo-halo cups in hand, and a stop at DreamWorks’ Arcade Monsters activation while a screening ran nearby. It all lined up conveniently with the group’s US trip, which sets up the international leg of their “Signals” world tour starting in August.
