Derrick Rose Heads to Cebu for a Two-Day Basketball Celebration
Derrick Rose is bringing his basketball resume to Cebu for the first time. The 2011 NBA Most Valuable Player and ArenaPlus brand ambassador headlines a two-day celebration called “Rose Meets the Queen: Derrick Rose in Cebu,” running August 25 and 26, 2026, across Shangri-La Mactan and SM Seaside City Cebu.
A First for the Queen City
This is Rose’s third trip to the Philippines as an ArenaPlus ambassador, but his first time in Cebu, a city the brand calls one of the country’s biggest basketball hotbeds.
Two Nights, Two Different Rooms
A VIP dinner opens the celebration on August 25 at Shangri-La Mactan, called the Champion’s Circle Appreciation Dinner in one report and the VIP Champions Circle Night in another, with a 4:30 p.m. start listed in the latter. Select ArenaPlus clients get time with Rose in that setting.
Fan activities at SM Seaside City Cebu begin at 11 a.m. on August 26, with basketball games, giveaways, and entertainment running through the afternoon. One report lists the public “Rose Meets the Queen” program itself as scheduled for 1 p.m., when Rose is set to personally hand out cash prizes from ArenaPlus’s nationwide P100 Million MVP Bracket and P50 Million Shared Prize Pool promos; that start time isn’t confirmed elsewhere. Admission is free, open to guests 21 and older.
Basketball, Then a Concert
Filipino artist Skusta Clee performs live to close out the two-day run.
Why Cebu, Why Now
ArenaPlus head Ethan William said the push is about reaching fans “across the country, not just in Metro Manila,” pointing to Cebu’s basketball culture as the reason to bring Rose south.
