NewJeans Signals a Comeback, and This Time It’s Four
Four years after “Attention” first showed up in playlists, NewJeans marked its anniversary with something fans had been asking for since 2024: a sign of life as a group.
At midnight KST on July 22, ADOR released a new film and photo series titled “2026 Summer of NewJeans,” built around Haerin, Hyein, Minji, and Hanni. It is the group’s first content together in sixteen months.
Minji, Confirmed
The release settled a question that had been open for months. Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni had already returned to ADOR. Minji’s status stayed unconfirmed until these images. Her appearance alongside the other three closes that gap and points to the group moving forward as a quartet.
The Member Not in the Photos
Danielle is not part of the new material. Her contract with ADOR was terminated in December 2025, after a Seoul court upheld the validity of the members’ agreements with the label that October. She marked the anniversary on her own account instead. In the post, she wrote about the light finding its way back even on cloudy days, and signed off grateful.
A Long Way Back
The group’s absence traces back to November 2024, when NewJeans announced it was cutting ties with ADOR after the label declined to reinstate former CEO Min Hee Jin. The dispute stretched into 2025. The group briefly rebranded as NJZ during that period. A Seoul court blocked their independent activities that March. The October ruling ultimately sided with ADOR, clearing the way for the members’ return to the label.
What Fans Are Saying
The portraits alone pulled in more than 1.8 million reactions on Instagram within a day. The response split. Many welcomed the return. Others used the comments to say the group does not feel complete without Danielle.
ADOR has called the release commemorative content for fans on the anniversary. The label has not announced a comeback date or new music, only that more content is on the way once ongoing talks wrap up.
