Mariah Deborah’s “Na Para Bang” Reaches No. 1 on the Philippines Hot 100
Mariah Deborah’s “Na Para Bang” is the No. 1 song on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 dated October 10. She released it on February 13, 2026. It entered the chart at No. 56 on September 26, her first Hot 100 entry, then moved to No. 2 a week later.
From No. 56 to No. 1 in three chart weeks
Deborah is an independent artist. On the October 3 chart, the song also took No. 1 on Top Philippine Songs, which ranks the most popular tracks by Filipino artists. This week it ends a six-week run at No. 1 for ADÉLA’s “Ain’t In LA,” which drops to No. 2. The Hot 100 ranks the country’s top 100 tracks each week using audio and streaming data from Luminate.
A song about hoping nothing changes
The narrator has fallen for a friend. She hopes the friendship stays exactly as it is, even as her feelings grow.
Deborah wrote it in 2025, when everyone was saying “na para bang.” Out loud, she says, the phrase sounds almost like percussion. She had also started liking a friend around then, and she wanted to write about it.
The bridge everyone repeats
People turned the chant-like bridge into a trend, using it to say what they would give up for someone they love. By the October 3 chart, the song was a mainstay sound on TikTok with millions of streams. Deborah was also among the highest-charting female OPM artists across multiple streaming platforms.
She did not want to wait for a producer
Deborah is 24 and from Calasiao, Pangasinan. She graduated in Communications from the University of the Philippines Baguio and works as an independent singer, songwriter, and producer.
The producing began in the pandemic. She was heartbroken and wanted her songs out. Then she asked herself, “Why would I wait for someone to produce these songs for me?” and taught herself how. The album “i wanna eat your intestines” came out in January 2023. She produced all of it except “carousel,” which she co-produced with her friend Enzo Caday.
Years before the chart
Both of her parents were singers who met through an orchestra. She and her sister were made to sing at family events, and she says that is one reason she loves it.
She loved Taylor Swift as a child. Learning that Swift writes her own songs is what got Deborah writing hers. She says Swift’s continued songwriting still pushes her to raise her game and to share stories that get less attention.
Streaming listings show “Hawlang Ginto” in 2022 and “Hangal” in 2023. “Hibang” came out in 2025. “Na Para Bang” was her first release of 2026, and “Bahagya” followed on June 12.
In a TikTok post, she said she went back to her old YouTube account and found the covers and original songs she posted as a teenager. She could not believe how far she had come.
Ready to be found
In another TikTok, promoting “Bahagya,” Deborah said she tells the universe every day that she is ready to be found by the people who would connect with her music. It feels like that is gradually happening, she added.
On September 29, she played “Na Para Bang,” “Bahagya,” and “Hibang” on a radio station’s touring bus for the first time. She had watched the views and comments pile up on TikTok from the province, but it was hard to grasp because it all happened online. Seeing people show up made it real, she said. It was very overwhelming, and she was grateful.
