SB19’s April concert is now in cinemas. “Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Concert Finale” is scheduled to screen in 12 countries this October: the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Austria, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar.

In North America, the film plays at more than 200 theaters on October 8 and 11. Iconic Events Releasing is presenting it with CJ 4DPLEX and lists participating theaters and ticketing details. The running time is 2 hours and 9 minutes.

The concert behind the film

The film was shot at the April 18 concert at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City. The show sold out. The film’s promotional material cites a record crowd of nearly 100,000 fans. Paolo Valenciano directed the concert, and 1Z Entertainment and Live Nation Philippines co-produced it. Live Nation Philippines, the concert’s promoter, announced the cinema release.

What was on stage

The concert ran nearly four hours across four stages. Fireworks opened and closed the night. It started with “DAM” while a jeepney-shaped float rolled onto the grounds. “WHAT?” and “GENTO” came next, both focus tracks from the trilogy EPs. Fans compared the atmosphere to a local festival like Sinulog in Cebu or a Pistang Bayan. The film’s synopsis names all three songs.

SCREENX and 4DX

Select theaters show the film in SCREENX and 4DX. SCREENX extends the picture onto the side walls of the auditorium. 4DX adds motion seats and effects such as wind, water, vibration, and fog. Ask your local cinema which theaters offer them.

What SB19 has going on

SB19 announced the finale date on New Year’s Day. The kickoff concert at the Philippine Arena drew an estimated 110,000 people across two nights. This year the group also became the first Filipino act to play Lollapalooza in Chicago. Next up is the inaugural KPOPWORLD Festival at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on October 31.
